Activity 1 - Photo: Mill Workers Outside Mill, Mass. by Lewis Hine 1. This characters in this photo are young mill workers. 2. These characters look like they are thinking that they do not want to be in a picture and that they are worked too hard. 3. These characters look like they are sad and that they want to be off playing and having fun. 4. These characters relationship to one another is that they all work in the mill together every single day. 5. Child labor laws will soon be made and these kids will probably still work. 6. This story is of the difficulty of being a pat of the working class and having to work from a young age.
Activity 2 - Photo: The Language of Hands 1. The characters are people of all different ages, races and religions. 2. These people look to be thinking of salvation and fear of what is to come in this world. 3. They are feeling joy, fear, al different emotions shown through their hands. 4. The characters all know each other and protect each other. 5. People are praying, protecting and celebrating life. 6. The story is abut how people live
Activity 3 - Man Alone 1. The story is of a man wondering around, maybe he's lost or looking for something/someone. 2. Each photo contributes to the story because in each picture he is looking into the distance and is in a different location
Activity 4 - The Human Condition 1. This story is about a man becoming one with the universe. 2. The story would not have been conveyed properly without all of the photos. 3. The only way it would make sense is if you were to remove a middle picture so you still have the beginning and end of the story. 4. I chose this photo because the editing is done well and because it appeals to my aesthetics.
Activity 5 - Katya 1. My idea for this assignment was to convey a typical day walking my dog with my friend. 2. Yes she did, she edited the 5 photos exactly how I would have done it. 3. She enhanced the images and converted them to black and white. 4. Yes I love the enhancements and how they look. 5. At first I was scared about it, but i feel comfortable because I know the editors style and like how she edits in general. 6. I would have chosen the same photos to convey the story because they all go together in a good way and are all equally aesthetically pleasing.
